About the Competition

This contest is free to enter for youth across the United States and will award TWO WINNERS in each of the following age categories:

9 and Under
10-14
15-18

Each winner will receive the following passes to some of America’s top rated fossil quarries:

A pass for One Youth and One Adult for two hours to American Fossil
A pass for One Youth and One Adult for two hours to Fossil Lake Safari
A day pass for up to Two Youth and Two Adults to Penn-Dixie Fossil Park & Nature Reserve
A pass for up to Two Youth and Two Adults for 8 hours at U-Dig Fossils

One winner in each age group will be determined by our panel.
A second winner in each age group will be determined by popular choice, through Facebook voting.

Competition Guidelines:

Entry artwork should relate to paleontology or prehistoric creatures.

Each entry should include the following information:

1. Entrant name and age as of contest deadline.

2. One photo of artwork and one photo of youth holding artwork.

3. An explanation of what is depicted in the artwork and why the entrant chose the subject.

4. Entrant parent contact information.

Art entries may be of the following media: drawing, painting, sculpture.
Digital art is not  accepted.

Only one entry will be accepted per person.

Entries into competition should be emailed to paleoart2026@gmail.com by April 11, 2026.

April 11 - Deadline for entry.

April 22-29 - Finalists posted for public voting via Facebook.

April 30 - Winners announced.
